72% Increase in Russian Barley Production

In July 2002, the Russian member of the Envirolyte Group, in cooperation with the largest brewery in Russia [Ochakovo] carried out a pilot project to test Anolyte as an alternative disinfectant to treat barley seeds before planting.

The project was conducted with the aim of confirming the benefits of replacing traditional chemicals with Envirolyte Activated Electrolyzed Aqua Solutions as a more effective, cost saving and ecologically-friendly alternative.

Before disinfecting, the sowing quality of the seeds was checked by experts in Phyto Botanical Science with the following findings: 

·        Growth capacity:  93-97%

·        Contamination with dust smuts:  0.4%

·        Contamination with hard smuts:  300 - 400 spores

·        Rotten roots:  62% of external infection

The use of all available chemicals was recommended to kill the smut. 

The resulting harvest was limited to fodder due to the high level of contamination with fungi.

The Barley Seed Grain was disinfected with Roxil chemical at the ratio of 0.5 kg of Roxil per 1 ton of seeds. 

Roxil chemical was selected for this project as being the cheapest on the market.

The Barley Seed Grain for 100 hectares was disinfected with Acidic Anolyte with the following characteristics: 

pH 2.5 - 3.5.         

ORP 900 to 1100mv. 

Ca.c:  500mg/L at the ratio of 30 liters per ton of Barley Seed Grain that was treated with Acidic Anolyte.

Test Results

3 weeks after sowing:  Samples on the left were treated with Roxil.  Samples on the right were treated with Anolyte.


The following observations were made about Anolyte-treated Barley Seed:

·        They gave earlier growth. 

·        They show better resistance to smut, weeds and parasites.

·        Plants are thicker and longer;

·        Roots are healthier and free from smut and mould.

Before harvesting, the Control & Test Fields were analyzed according to standard procedures, with the following results:

The analysis of all data from the Control & Test Fields clearly proves the advantages of using Anolyte as a seed disinfectant before sowing. 

The use of Anolyte resulted in the following documented increase and quality of production versus the traditional use of chemicals:

  • 28% greater length of plants.
  • 25% greater thickness of plants.
  • 26% greater bushy coefficient.
  • 20% greater length of head.
  • 27% increase in number of grains per head.
  • 5% greater mass per seed.
  • 72% greater yield in harvest.

58% Increase in Indian Rice Production

Treatment of Rice Seed Grain with Envirolyte Acidic Anolyte [Aqua Sol] resulted in a 58% increase in rice production in the Test Field.
